Stoning

"If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant, and hath gone and served other gods, and worshiped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded; And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and inquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel: Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die. (...). The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you."

And that's the history of a cruel God, full of hate and revenge against those whose didn't worshiped him or followed His commanders. A God different from that one found in the New Testament. Different, but the same. As they say...
I even thought in trying this, stoning someone or some live being, to show here such experiment, but this act is so cruel that only a sick mind, a psych idiot or someone with a great fury against another would do this thing or would watch this naturally. Death by stoning is cruel, slowly and painfully, because our body can resist the stone impacts, absorbing little by little, accumulating the pain until the moment we fell unconscious (but still alive). I would stoning some body in the third case above, a great angry, but I haven't nowadays someone which I hate so much and so intensely.
In the Israelite Torah, which correspond to the five first books of the Hebrew Bible (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy), and the Mishna give a lot of reasons to sentence someone to death by stoning. From the adultery (mainly), blasphemy to wizard and idolater another gods. For sure if the practice of stoning would be used nowadays for the punishment of the sins sentenced by it, there wouldn't have enough stones in the world.
Although the stoning still is used as punishing in some countries or villages, for most religions, even Judaism, stoning doesn't has to be obligatorily throw stones over someone. The "stones" can be actions, words or attitudes which punishes the sinner, once that for some people it can be as hard as stones. The important thing is the message left. Sure, sometimes people takes the message by the word, and very enthusiastically, throw rocks.
I suggest you watch the movie "The Stoning of Soraya M." or read the book of the journalist Freidoune Sahebjam for more references and to see how this kind of punishment can be misunderstand and manipulated by corrupt people with a fake moral.
